          We propose the mental function only physical paper can do.
          Instead of print the text and inform the contents. This project is directed and designed
          by a Japan based designer DAN TOMIMATSU and produced by a Taiwan based agency company DESIGN ISSUE.

          • プロダクトデザイナー 富松暖が、初めての著書としてデザインした本 “FLOWer” は全ページが半透明の紙で構成された文庫本です。
            私たちの身の回りに漂い浮いている、所在無き何かを挟み留めておく為の場所としてデザインされています。
            それは、一枚の写真や切手、何処かに消えてしまう様な小さなもの、そして、形なき言葉や記憶かもしれません。

        • | O -les amants d’eau- |

          “O” - eau- is a film made of water.
          The one and only water lens is achieved by utilizing surface tension, dripping a waterdrop in the hole
          of a Japanese five-yen-coin. Water lenses are fragile: they tremble in the wind, break by the touch
          of a finger, but yet universal, watching the world as a dew on a leaf, or a drip from a faucet,
          or water inside you. Adapted from poet fukudapero's singular poetry, we have made a 5 minutes film
          by collecting visions of waterdrops of our ordinary world.

            このレンズは、表面張力によって支えられた
            五円玉硬貨の穴に張られた小さな水滴によって作られています。
            風が吹けば揺れ、触れれば割れてしまう水のレンズは
            葉の上の露、蛇口の先に溜まった水滴など
            常に私たちの身の回りに点在し、世界を映し込んでいます。
            詩人ふくだぺろ氏の詩を原作に
            水滴が映している世界の一部を切り取り構成された映像作品です。

          • 花を生けるという行為は、花を自然から居住環境に植物を持ち込み鑑賞する行為です。
            人は花瓶に生けられた植物の何を観ているのでしょうか。

            VEILはドライフラワーを制作する要領で花を逆さまに生けることの出来る花瓶です。
            生けられた植物は徐々に乾燥した後は、物質的に朽ちる迄半永久的に花瓶の中に留まります。
            花が生けられてからドライフラワーになるまでの、うつろいゆく美を鑑賞する為の花瓶です。

          CLIENT: A-1 Corp

          Seal matrix designed for an order made seal matrix company House of Hanco. Its figure
          is designed to be minimum yet gentle. Seal matrix derives from China but has become an
          original culture rooted in Japan. To give the figure a Japanese beauty, the curve of the seal
          matrix is proportioned in Yamato ratio found in Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement art), etc.
          Nosaku from Takaoka makes the seal matrix.Seal impression is designed by typographer OOHIRA
          Yoshimichi and made in Tsubame Sanjo, a prestige blacksmiths town.

          A clock is a tool invented to capture the invisible passage of time.
          Time is often compared to a flow of a river constantly running in one direction.
          Every living thing flows with the “river of time” as foam floating in water.
          “FOTD”, a wristwatch, is a container filled with transparent water from the “river of time”,
          and is designed not merely as a tool to simply quantify time,
          but to embody the entity and mystique of time.

          Art direction for Tokyo Metropolitan Machida Integrated High School. Directed total design including
          school emblem, uniform, posters, brochures and more.

          Machida Integrated High School, established in 2009 was the last of the integrated high schools
          introduced under Tokyo Metropolitan educational reform. Students are expected of their independence
          and to design their curriculum by themselves.

          The emblem is a stylization of light shining on school. Light represents education, and the box, school.
          Added to that, a model was produced where the angle of the light changes every second, as a motion identity.

          Symbolized and designed the integrated high school education system, which casts light on students from
          various angles, unlike conventional, uniformed education.

          | 3D printed objects |

          MILANO SALONE 2016 VENTURA LAMBRATE

          ALTERS is a plasticware made solely from a 3D printer support material for a 3D scanned natural
          rock. Support materials are automatically generated to support the base material's form literally.
          Thus, usually once completed, support materials will be scrapped.
          But here the relationship is inverted, and the base product is removed before molding.
          This by-product represents this new technology itself which shall support future human life.
          ALTERS symbolizes the raison d'etre of 3D printing.
          • 今作品は自然の石を3Dスキャンしたデータを3Dプリンターに転送後、造形の為のシュミレーションを
            行うことで生成されるサポート材のみで制作された器です。本来、サポート材は制作物の造形を補助する
            目的に自動生成されるもので、造形後は制作物から除去、廃棄されます。今作品では、制作物と補助材の
            主従が逆転し制作物のデータは造形前に消去されています。
            必要とされる制作物を造形する際に、プリンターによって生成されるサポート材は、これからの人類の
            生活を支える為に存在している3Dプリンティング技術を象徴していると言えます。
            ALTERSは、3Dプリンティング技術の存在意義を象徴するプロダクトとして制作されています。

          “keeps and yet emancipates.”

          Jewellery is an instrument to keep human memory and moments as well as
          an ornament to express oneself. UNBOUND is a collection of partly distorted
          geometric figures (square, circle, etc.) transformed to keep-purpose instruments,
          in use of the Japanese traditional art method mitate. While these instruments
          lose their original physical function, yet interact as symbols to the human mind.

            ジュエリーは、自身を表現するものであると同時に、人の思いや出来事、記憶を留めるものと言えます。
            colllection UNBOUNDは幾何学的な形状を有機的に歪める事により、何かを留める道具に見立てらてた
            ジュエリーコレクションです。 これらの道具は、本来備えていた機能を失いながらも、象徴として人の心に作用します。

          RUDE ORE 1.0

          "Being the boundary between nature and art"

          Collection DISSOLVE is the new jewellery collection created by the original
          method for crafting precious metals, entirely new to the world.
          Occasionally the natural phenomenon generates that the soil melts
          the other material contained in the gold alloy away from the ancient
          jewellery buried on the ground for thousands of years.

          As a consequence of this phenomenon this gold maintains an organic texture
          not only on the surface but also internally, like an ore composition.
          Its texture created by the elemental reaction spending a long time brings together
          features of the artificial figure and organic composition despite it goes through
          the manufacturing process once.

          DAN TOMIMATSU focused attention on this phenomenon and evolved into the original
          craft method "DESSOLVE". The establishment of the specific condition to ingenerate
          this phenomenon enabled the integration of the organic texture and jewellry.

          Collection DISSOLVE brings together features of the geometric figure and natural composition,
          modernity and inheritance from the past.
          • ”自然と人の境界に佇むもの”

            DISSOLVE は 新しく生み出された独自の工芸技法を用いて制作されるジュエリー コレクションです。
            遥か昔に造られた金や銀の装飾品が何千年もの間、地中に埋もれていた場合に、地金に含れるその他の物質が溶け出し、
            消失する現象が起こります。

            その結果として、装飾品の表面に生まれる起伏だけでなく、内部にかけて複雑に入り組んだ空洞が生まれます。
            自然の力によって長い時間を掛けて生み出されるこの質感は、一度、人間の手によって加工された人工物でありながら、
            同時に有機的な質感を併せ持つようになります。DAN TOMIMATSU はこの現象に着目し、工芸技法 DISSOLVEへと発展させました。

            貴金属から他の物質が消失するプロセスを意図的に作り出し、悠久の時を経なければ生まれ得ない質感、
            形状を備えたジュエリーを制作することを可能としました。この技法を用いて制作されるジュエリーは、
            自然の力によって生み出された質感と同じように、１つ１つ異なるパターンを有しています。

            自然と人の境界に佇む、世界にただ１つのジュエリーを制作します。

      Dan Tomimatsu, born in 1982, is a Japanese designer.
      An MA graduate of Design Domus Academy, Milan and A BA graduate of TAMA art university.

      Established his studio “TOMIMATSU products” and Jewellery brand "_ DAN TOMIMATSU" in 2009.
      • 1982年、東京生まれ。多摩美術大学卒業。ミラノ ドムスアカデミー デザイン学科 修士課程修了。富松社、TOMIMATSU products代表。
